As part of our commitment to the community, the Aker-Kasten Cataract & Laser Institute provides complimentary eye screenings for cataracts, glaucoma and other eye diseases as a service to our surrounding communities. The fully equipped mobile screening van is a valuable resource to those who would otherwise not be able to seek professional eye care. Through our efforts, people with cataracts have been advised on modern surgical care, new cases of glaucoma have been detected and other eye diseases have been evaluated. Patients are referred to their doctor for further evaluation and treatment. This program provides valuable information designed to assist all patients in preserving the precious gift of sight.
