Dr. Kubal has brought a wide range of experience to the Aker Kasten surgical team. His cheerful, kind and warm demeanor combined with exquisite surgical skills has won the hearts and confidence of both staff and patients alike.

With a B.A. summa cum laude in Biochemical Sciences at Harvard University, Dr. Kubal subsequently received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York. Having completed a fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, he also has served as a long time distinguished faculty member of the University of Florida as Director of Refractive Surgery Service and Director of Medical Student Education in Ophthalmology. 

Dr. Kubal is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and holds memberships in several societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, and the Florida Society of Ophthalmology.

Committed to providing his patients with the safest and most technologically advanced surgical options available, Dr. Kubal has extensive experience with the Femtosecond Laser for Cataract Surgery as well as Advanced Technology Premium Lens Implants, designed to provide a more natural range of vision without glasses. He also specializes in the latest glaucoma procedures available for lowering intraocular pressure for glaucoma patients. These procedures are performed in conjunction with cataract surgery.
